All In, All Green!

Sometimes in our PF headquarters, we experience a midday slump that’s not uncommon in offices across the country. To combat this, we’ve tried numerous sluggishness-zapping techniques like midday coffee breaks, healthy protein snacks, and even brisk walks to spring our minds back into wakeful consciousness. But none proved as effective or long-lasting as drinking our very own superfood green powders after lunch. At first, I was on the hesitant side when it came to trying them out, but I soon discovered just how beneficial a shot of greens really is. And with St. Patrick’s Day around the corner, we thought we’d give you the rundown of our favorite green powders.

Kyo-Green Energy Powder from Kyolic – What more could you ask for from a supplement? This is a perfect blend of wheat grass (think vitamins A, C, and E), barley (great source of protein and vitamins to support blood sugar levels), and brown rice (from which you get fiber, selenium, calcium, and more). All of these are great for digestive health and overall well-being. This blend also contains phytonutrients and antioxidants like chlorella and kelp, which boost your energy levels the natural way. Now, instead, of reaching for an unhealthy snack from a vending machine, a shot of this green super blend is enough to get me through the day and is potent enough to keep me going through the evening hours.

Vitamineral Green Powder by HealthForce Nutrition – This one is a favorite in the office with everyone, and not in the least because it is 100% vegan, gluten-free, and completely undiluted. This blend offers detox support if that’s what you’re looking for, but it’s also great for a nutritive and energizing boost that also contains an abundance of minerals, vitamins, amino acids, chlorophyll, and so many other goodies that are great for your muscles, digestion, liver, and immune system. We haven’t been able to stop raving about this powder since the first scoop.

Garden of Life’s Raw Organic Perfect Food Green Superfood – We love this raw powder because it’s rich in greens, sprouts, and vegetable extracts. It’s also a good source of prebiotics, probiotics, and enzymes that make it ideal for a bit of extra digestive support. We also love that it’s certified organic, non-GMO, and lacking any additives like stevia.

What we’re rapidly discovering is that these powders are often a great, low calorie, and immensely beneficial way to quickly get your much-needed nutrients and daily dose of veggies in an easy and delicious way!
