Benefits of Calendula

Calendula, commonly known as marigold, is an herb in the Asteraceae family that is native to Asia and southern Europe. The flower of this herb can be found in nature in different colors but yellow and orange are the most common. Because of its beautiful colors, it has been used for years to decorate gardens.

The name calendula comes from the Latin word kalendae, which means “calends,” the first day of each month. Calendula is also known as the “herb of the sun” because its flowers open during the day and close at night.
