Omega 3s have been quite the topic of conversation when it comes to all the benefits that we can get from having the right amounts in our bodies. Salmon just so happens to be an incredibly rich source of Omega 3! I know some people are not that big of a fan of the “fishy taste” that fish comes with, but what if I told you that the difference is in the way you prep your fish?

This honey ginger sesame salmon dish accompanied by coconut rice (coconut rice recipe) is a combination of wonderful ingredients that add amazing flavor to salmon too wonderful for words to describe. But if I have to sum it up in one word I’d have to go with: Yum!

Honey Ginger Sesame Salmon

For the salmon
  1. 4 salmon fillets
For salmon marinade
  1. ¼ cup olive oil
  2. 2 tablespoons raw coconut aminos (or soy sauce)
  3. 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  4. 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  5. 2 tablespoons honey
  6. 2 garlic cloves cut in small pieces
  7. 1 tablespoon ginger
  8. 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  9. 4 green onions cut in thin slices
For the honey ginger glaze
  1. 2 tablespoons honey
  2. 1 teaspoon raw coconut aminos (or soy sauce)
  3. 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  4. ½ teaspoon ginger
  5. ½ teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, mix the ingredients for the salmon marinade and place in a gallon size Ziploc bag with the salmon fillets. Close bag and place in refrigerators for about 1-2 hours (or overnight, the longer you leave it, the more taste will be incorporated in the salmon). Turn bag occasionally.
  2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk the ingredients for the honey ginger glaze.
  4. Remove salmon from bag and place in a nonstick baking dish with the marinade. Place in oven and let bake for about 20 minutes.
  5. When ready, serve salmon with honey ginger glaze and coconut rice.
